PERMIT#:M-1984-185
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS:RAR
INSPECTION DATE:22 September 2021
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted by the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety(The Division),
in response to the surety release request submitted on 4 August 2021. The site was previously inspected by
the Division on 9 September 2020 during a routine inspection. At that time the site was being reclaimed.
Jason Eager with Lincoln County accompanied Robin Reilley,of the DRMS during the inspection. The site,
having been reclaimed, was inactive at the time of the inspection. The weather was calm, and the sky was
clear.
The Ellis Allen Pit is a I I Ic permitted site. It is located north east of Limon, Colorado accessible from
Highway 109 and County Road 31. The site is comprised of land owned by members of the Bain family.
The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule
3.1.12. The site encompasses a total permit area of 8.2 acre, of which 8.2 acres have been disturbed to date.
Drill seeding took place in spring of 2020 following final backfilling and grading that occurred in 2019 and
2020. Vegetation appeared adequate. Although sparse in small areas it is expected to establish in the near
term and with some additional moisture as the past year was notably dry and hot throughout an extended
summer. Sparse areas do not pose a threat of erosion or sediment transport, slopes are graded to 3H:IV.
Some weeds existed in sparsely vegetated areas and do not pose a threat to the preferred vegetation mix. No
stockpiles, structures, equipment or fuel were present on the site at the time of inspection.
No problems or violations were noted during this inspection. The Division currently holds no financial
warranty because it is a county operation. The Division finds that the pit can be released.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to: Robin Reilley at the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman St.,Room 215,Denver, CO 80203.
