Compliance With Mine Plan N - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> N -Other N - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> N -Processing Waste N -Topsoil <br /> CONVOENTS <br /> This was a partial inspection by Leigh Simmons of the Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety <br /> (Division).The weather was clear,dry,hot and windy. The status of the Elk Creek Mine is"active"however no <br /> coal is being mined and the only activity since the last inspection was site maintenance. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br /> Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,4.05.10; <br /> Diversions 4.05.4;Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br /> Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8;Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> The site was generally very dry,as is typical for the time of year.No water was flowing in the Elk Creek <br /> channel. <br /> ROADS—Rule 4.03 <br /> Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.032(3),Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.032(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and <br /> (6)/4.032(5) and(6),Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.032(7): <br /> Heavy traffic coupled with dry conditions had made the surface of the roads in the lower part of the <br /> facilities area loose and dusty. Oxbow staff planned to mobilize a water truck as soon as possible to control the <br /> dust. <br /> REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15 <br /> Vegetative Cover;Timing: <br /> The vegetation on reclaimed areas was dry,as would be expected for the time of year,but the general <br /> impression was of good vegetative cover,with plenty of species diversity throughout the reclaimed areas. <br /> Mr. Smith had continued to treat weeds on reclaimed GVB pads and access roads,particularly those identified <br /> during the SL-5 inspection earlier in the year.
