J-2 Contracting Co.—DPG Pit— Technical Revision No. 1 Adequacy Review Response
File No. M-2019-028
-9-
update on the status of structures abandonment and removal for the structures within 200 feet
of the mining phases and update the Mining and Reclamation Plan maps accordingly.
Response: All wells and tank batteries within the mining phases have been permanently
abandoned. Chevron (formerly Noble Energy) and Extraction Oil and Gas have removed
all the tank batteries and abandoned all of the wells within the mining phases. The only
remaining structure is the Noble/DCP gathering line referenced in item 5. The operator
has been in contact with Chevron as discussed in the response to #5 in the above
comments. The gathering line will be abandoned by Noble once the Chevron well is
abandoned as described in the response to #5 in the above comments.
21. During the original permit application review the Operator committed to not mining within 200
feet of the structures not owned by DPG Farms, LLC that are in the mining phases until the
structure owner abandons and removes them from the mining phases or an agreement is in
place. See Item #54b in the adequacy response letter for the original application dated August
26, 2019. Please provide an update on the status of structures agreements for the structures
within 200 feet of the mining phases, update the Mining and Reclamation Maps accordingly and
provide copies of any structure agreements not already on file with the Division.
Response: See above response to #20.
22. During the original permit application review the Operator committed to providing copies of the
approved well permit and Substitute Water Supply Plan (SWSP) from the Division of Water
Resources (DWR). See Item #57 in the adequacy response letter for the original application
dated August 26, 2019. The Division received a copy of the approved SWSP from the DWR on
June 14, 2021. Please provide a copy of the approved well permit from DWR for the Division's
file.
Response: The approved well permit from DWR is included in the attachments.
J-2 Contracting Co. appreciates your consideration of this update to the technical revision request and
looks forward to your response.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
, e_
J.C.
