Unfortunately, this area does not have an abundance of
public wildlife areas. For those that want to get out in the wilderness, most of the land in the area is privately
owned and not accessible to the public. As the Grape Creek Area has an abundance of wildlife available for
public use, I do not want to see it turned into a gold mining area which will reduce and destroy much of the
wildlife and fauna in the area.Although I do not live in Canon City, I use the area for recreational play, that
would be severely effected if a mine were to open in the area.
Wild and scenic places are slowly being destroyed and developed in the name of progress and profit. I ask that
you do not issue a permit for this mine that will deeply destroy a recreational and wildlife area that is used by
many.We cannot compare the value of a recreational area to the profits of a mine. Recreational use is open to
everyone to use and not for the profit of a few. Please do not issue the permit to Zephyr Minerals and leave it to
public recreational use for everyone.
Thank you
Joyce Levine
Permit Number*
Enter valid letter and then numbers, for example M122112211 or C123456789.
M2021046
Permitting Action Type
Change of Status
Select revision type or leave blank if comment pertains to a new permit application or NOI
Permitting Action Sequence
Company Seeking Permit
