Rifle ".)ravel P;t #I
• Vegetative piles will be removed from the area or used in accordance with the
Reclamation Plan.
6.1.1.6 Revegetation
Exhibit E1, Figure 15 and Exhibit E2, Figure 16 provide detailed information regarding the
revegetation of the Rifle Pit. The proposed revegetation was selected with the following
intents:
• Establish a diverse, effective, and long-lasting vegetative cover that is capable of
self-regeneration without continued dependence on irrigation, soil amendments or
fertilizer, and is at least equal in extent of cover to the natural vegetation of the
surrounding area. Native mixes were selected to comply with NRCS standards and
the long-term use of the site.
• Provide for the greatest probability of success in plant establishment and vegetation
development by considering environmental factors such as seasonal patterns of
precipitation, temperature, and wind; soil texture and fertility; slope stability; and
direction of slope faces. Similar attention was given to biological factors.
• Ensure the establishment of a diverse and long lasting vegetative cover by
employing site preparation and protection techniques such as soil conditioning;
mulching; soil amendments; or irrigation.
• Prohibit noxious weed species through weed control methods as documented in
Attachment C. See Section 6.5 for additional information.
• CR 346 will be used for emergency access to Rifle Pit.
6.1.1.7 Buildings and Structures
There are no historical structures on the property.
6.1.1.8 Signs and Markers
Scott Contracting, Inc. will post a sign at the entrance of the property that will be clearly
visible from the access road, with a minimum size equaling one hundred and eighty-seven
(187) square inches, such as eleven (11) inches in heights and seventeen (17) inches in
width with the information specified in Rule 3.1.12(1)(a)-(c).
The boundaries of the Affected Area will also be marked by monuments or other markers
that are clearly visible and adequate to delineate such boundaries, specifically the area
proposed to be disturbed (Permitted Area) by mining operations for which a Financial
Warranty and Performance Warranty have been posted (Affected Area).
6.1.1.9 Spill Reporting
Scott Contracting, Inc. will notify the DRMS Office of a spill of any toxic or hazardous
substance, including spills of petroleum products, within 24-hours of the time of the spill.
