*GCC <br /> Rio G7onde <br /> August 10,2021 <br /> RECEIVED <br /> Submitted Via ePermitting and Email <br /> AUG 112021 <br /> Mr.Patrick Linnberg DIVISION OF RECLAMATION <br /> Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety MINING AND SAFETY <br /> 1313 Sherman St., Rm.215 <br /> Denver,CO 80203 <br /> RE: GCC Rio Grande,Inc.,Pueblo Plant,Reclamation Permit No.M-2002-004,Technical Revision, <br /> Addition of Explosive Materials Storage Facility <br /> Dear Mr.Linnberg: <br /> GCC Rio Grande, Inc., Pueblo Plant(GCC) is submitting this request for a Technical Revision (TR)to the <br /> GCC Reclamation Permit M-2002-004 to construct an explosive materials storage facility and related <br /> access road, in accordance with Section 1.9 of the of the Mineral Rules and Regulations of the Colorado <br /> Mined Land Reclamation Board for Hard Rock,Metal,and Designated Mining Operations.The location of <br /> the facility will provide convenient and reliable access to explosive materials to support quarry operations. <br /> New Area of Disturbance and Facility Structures <br /> The proposed explosive materials storage facility is located northeast of the quarry and entirely within <br /> the current Reclamation Permit boundary, as shown in Figure 1 Site View. The proposed area of <br /> disturbance for the new facility,represented by the green polygon in Figure 2 Detailed View,will measure <br /> approximately 600 x 600 feet or 36,000 square feet(0.83 acres).This area will be graded and prepared <br /> with approximately 12 inches of compacted rock.Two explosives storage magazines,an emulsion bin and <br /> office trailer will be situated on the facility in the approximate locations shown on Figure 2.The emulsion <br /> bin will be situated on an approximate 13'x 13'x 1'deep concrete pad.The explosives magazines and <br /> office trailer will be situated directly upon the ground.The facility will be surrounded by an 8-foot chain <br /> link fence with access gate for security.Dimensions of the structures are summarized below in Table 1. <br /> Table 1—Dimensions of Facility Structures <br /> Structure Dimensions <br /> Explosives Magazine(SN-AMP-109) 96"L x 84"W x 84"H <br /> Explosives Magazine(SN-AMP-110) 90"L x 90"W x 90"H <br /> Emulsion Bin 29'H x 13'W(cylinder) <br /> Office Trailer 30'L x 10'W(estimated) <br /> The access road to the new facility will be located as shown in Figure 2.The proposed area of disturbance <br /> is estimated to be 1,000 feet long and 60 feet wide or 60,000 square feet(1.4 acres). <br /> The total proposed new area of disturbance for the project is summarized in Table 2. <br />
