PERMIT#:M-1995-046 <br /> INSPECTOR'S INITIALS:ACY <br /> INSPECTION DATE:August 10,2021 <br /> OBSERVATIONS <br /> This inspection was conducted as part of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) <br /> normal monitoring program. The Johnson Draw is a 112c permitted site that includes a total of 40 permitted <br /> acres. The site is located two miles west of Rangely, Colorado and is accessed from County Road 2. The pit is <br /> on property owned by the State Land Board. Clint Chappell and James Haggart represented the operator and <br /> accompanied Amy Yeldell of the Division on the inspection. No financial warranty is held for this site as is it <br /> operated by Rio Blanco County,per Rule 4.1.2(2). <br /> The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule <br /> 3.1.12. A sign is attached to the gate at the permit entrance. The permit boundary is clearly delineated by t-posts <br /> covered with a white PVC sleeve. <br /> This pit is moving towards final reclamation.No additional excavation or processing of material will take place. <br /> No processing equipment, structures, fuel, etc. are stored on site. There are a few remaining stockpiles on the <br /> east side of the pit that need to be utilized before final reclamation can occur site wide. An oil well pad divides <br /> the pit. The western side of the pit has had some reclamation completed. All slopes are re-graded. It has been <br /> seeded however there has been very little success. An additional seeding will be necessary give that over several <br /> years establishment is poor even when compared to the and undisturbed adjacent lands. <br /> Overall the site is kept in good working order. Stormwater controls are properly employed with no signs of <br /> erosion. Little to no weeds were observed. Native vegetation has volunteered in some areas.
