The site is in final reclamation,and not active
the day of the inspection. The weather was clear and dry.Mindy Sickles of Elk Ridge Mining and Reclamation
Accompanied the inspection and represented the Operator. Six Photos accompany this report to illustrate the
observed site conditions.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4;Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage —Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8;Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
The main focus of this inspection was to observe the conditions of the various ponds and water
conveyances present throughout the site as the area has received significant monsoonal precipitation events. All
ditches throughout the site observed are free from obstruction and appeared to be functioning as designed. No
evidence of significant erosion or head cutting was noted in any of the conveyances observed.
Pond 009 was observed and in good condition. Pond 009 has been converted to a stock pond but is still monitored
for noxious weeds and erosion. As seen in Photo One,the pond shows no signs of significant erosion nor did it
have any standing water present. The condition of the vegetation suggests recent impoundment of water.
Photo Two shows Pond 012. The pond is well vegetated and was stable at the time of the inspection. No standing
water was observed and no erosion or head cutting of the inlet structure or banks was noted.
Pond 13, shown in Photo Three is the only pond observed that contains water. Flows from the backfill discharge
line and irrigation water line were flowing through the aeration system at the time of the inspection. All lines,
grates and support systems of the aeration system were in good condition and appeared to be functioning as
designed. The pond itself is well vegetated with upland vegetation away from the water's edge and riparian
vegetation on the immediate banks. Evidence of heavy wildlife traffic was observed in the area. The outfall of
Pond 13 was also observed and flowing unimpeded at the discharge point. No evidence of head cutting or erosion
was noted at the discharge point.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 2 of 6
