Brock Bowles flew and photographed the site. The photographs were
inspected by Leigh Simmons. The weather was clear however haze from the smoke of wildfires accross the
western US reduced the clarity of some of the pictures.
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
It appears that the run of mine coal stockpile had been drawn down, with the pile reduced particularly
around the westernmost stack tube. The volume of material in the processed coal stockpile was quite large,
although the material in the pile was well within its footprint.
A train was being loaded at the time of the inspection.
PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES — Rule 4.10 and 4.11
Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement:
The images show that the remaining processing waste had been removed from the temporary pile on the
surface of the RPE and that work was ongoing on the RPEE.
SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12:
The slump on the Materials Storage Bench outslope appears to be somewhat stable. Some vegetation had
grown up on the slumped area, and there was no evidence of any recent movement.
SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04:
No further development of MVB pads or roads had taken place in the Sunset Trails area, and there no was
evidence of any activity on any of the previously constructed facilities except on the pads associated with the SS1
panel. The mobile flare appears to have been moved to the SSI-2 pad.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED
N/A
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
Page 2 of 10
