Southeast Corner of Pit - July 2, 2021
ji
Mn
r ♦ _ .`. - _
.- "►
14 V r ♦ .sya _
,
i
L
'-Y 5WYf r
ari - w x it w y ail} x
The top photo is a wide view of the southeast corner of the pit where the most grading is needed. The lower photo is a closer view of
the portion that needs to be modified the most. All the steep slopes need to be graded into gentle slopes like those on the left third of
the top photo. Besides pushing material from behind the steep slopes into the basin, material will be taken from the immediate south
to fill the basin and create gentle slopes (5:1) in an amphitheater form that curves around the southeast corner of the pit. In effect the
whole area will be reconfigured. The lower vertical slopes on the right of the top image will be pushed down over the rich green area to
produce a similar 5.1 slope in that area. The green area is already at almost that grade but the highwall does not fit the landscape.
