Alternate Phone Number
Used only to follow up.
Alternate Phone Extension
Connection to Operation
Select all that apply
Land Owner of affected land Structure Owner within 200' of affected land
Mineral Owner Nearby Resident
Adjacent Land Owner Concerned Citizen
Government Agency Other
DESCRIPTION OF COMMENT OR OBJECTION
(Please be as specific as possible)
Comment/Objection Narrative
1.The current Frei quarry at on Hwy 6 already causes large amounts of dust to blow up into the air on our
numerous windy days, affecting homes in the Douglas Mountain/Robinson Hill Road area. This is already an
environmental hazard AND with recent Jeffco plans to land swap I understand this mine will get even larger.A
second quarry nearby will only add to this problem.
2.Traffic from the number of trucks from this quarry on the already busy Hwy 6 is dangerous. Please look at
statistics of accident involving trucks from the current quarry. I do not believe either 170 or Hwy 6 are sufficient
for even the current traffic load evidenced by the number of traffic jams, accidents etc.
3.Another quarry almost adjacent to the current Frei quarry, even though in different counties will cause even
more damage to our mountain environment. Note that the area around Idaho Springs has usually been
populated by wild long horn sheep. How will this population be affected? Not just by reduced land but by heavy
industry which includes blasting. I have seen no evidence tha the environmental impact of a new quarry been
properly studied.
Permit Number*
Enter valid letter and then numbers, for example M122112211 or C123456789.
M2021009
Permitting Action Type
Permit Type
County
Gilpin
Site Name
Perm ittee/Operator Name
Comment or Objection
Objection
Support
General Comment
Agency Comment
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
