6.4.10 Exhibit J
Vegetation Information
Present vegetation on this site consists mainly of blue gramma, western wheatgrass, sideoats gramma,
and sand drop seed. In addition, downy brome, threeawn, buffalograss, and broom snakeweed were
also observed. Due to overgrazing the condition of the range has deteriorated. Therefore, other
varieties such as Russian thistle, ringmuhly, sage, and pricklypear cactus are common on the property.
In some minor drainageways juniper and pinon pine have also grown in limited amounts. The percent of
vegetated cover varies between 30%and 40%.
The present vegetation indicates the relationship of the plants to the soil. With a moderately alkaline
soil and 10 to 12 inches of rainfall per year, the present plants are very hardy and drought tolerant.
