LLC <br /> Operator Union Milling Contractors LLC <br /> Ladles and Gentlemen <br /> L0 Introduction <br /> At the request of CJK Milling Company(Hopemore Mine), R Squared, Inc has been retained to prepare a <br /> permanent man-made structural engineering report pursuant to Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining <br /> and Safety (CDRMS) regulations (Section 6 4 19 Exhibit S(b) and(c)) and a CRDRS inspectors request <br /> i See Attachment 1) The regulations require the mill operator to notify adjacent landowners and other <br /> entities who are within 200 feet of Hopemore Mine permit boundary when a permit or amendment is being <br /> considered. <br /> 2.0 Background <br /> 1 he 9,9-acre htstoncal mine site is in the southeast quarter of the southeast quarter of section 20. <br /> township 9 south, Range 79 west is at 2921 County Road 1, Lake County, Colorado The site is <br /> approximately 3.5 miles east of Leadville at an elevation of 11.500 feet above sea level 1 he mine <br /> property is on a 20-acre claim. 10 5 acres is an unpatented claim known as the Comstock and 9 85 acres <br /> is patented and is known as the Robert Burns The claim is under the ludsdicbon of the U S Bureau of <br /> Land Management Royal gorge District(BLM). The mine has been operating periodically from 190' to <br /> the present <br /> The mine is accessed by County Road No 1 where the mine permit boundary is approximately 300 feet <br /> from the mine entrance Structures within the permit boundary include electrical and a telephone utility <br /> line, two head frames. parking lot. a rock storage area, a septic system and an office building (See <br /> Figure 1 <br /> 3.0 Evaluations and Conclusions <br /> The only permanent man-made structures within 200 feet of the permit boundary are a telephone line <br /> owned by Century Link (See Figure 2) and unpaved county road The County road within 200 feet of the <br /> mine is exclusively used for mine access On the basis of our observations and evaluations we conclude <br /> that these structures will not be adversely affected by CJK's site activities i he mine is permitted in an <br /> area zoned as Industrial/Commercial(mining) No trespassing signs at key locations have been posted <br /> Blasting from exploration or mining will have little vibration effect on these types of structures The access <br /> to the rnine will be maintained by the County and the mine operator Only authorized visitors and service <br /> SmttMcally Petitioned- Technically Prepared" <br /> 9034 E Easter PI Suite 201,Centennial,Colorado 80112, p: (303) 832-7664, f: (303)832-7469 <br />
