Using the average concentrations for silver
in each of these minerals determined in the previous test work, 75% of the silver is present
in tetrahedrite and 25% in polybasite. X-Ray maps were completed on the Pb #2 Cleaner
Concentrate and did show that there is some variation in the Ag content in tetrahedrite. It
may be beneficial to look at tetrahedrite compositions in individual samples to determine if
there are compositional differences related to sample locations. Silver may also be present
in ultra-trace concentrations in other minerals below the detection limit of the
instrumentation.
Concentrate Samples
The estimation of mineral abundance for each concentrate is presented in Table 9. Galena,
sphalerite, tetrahedrite and chalcopyrite are the main minerals present in the Pb #2 cleaner
con. Pyrite and gangue are observed in minor and trace concentrations. Sphalerite is the
main mineral detected in the Zn #2 cleaner concentrate. Pyrite is the largest diluent in the
zinc concentrate followed by galena and low amounts of gangue and copper bearing
sulfides.
Galena is predominantly liberated in the Pb #2 cleaner concentrate. Sphalerite, while
present as middlings with chalcopyrite and galena, is also well liberated. Chalcopyrite has
many middlings with sphalerite, gangue and tetrahedrite. Most of the gangue observed
contains some locked chalcopyrite or galena, explaining its presence.
Page 7of15
