- As a result of the site being in the floodplain, floodwater will submerge the subject north fill area and therefore a
"release"via a failure of the embankment would be unlikely with only a small differential on either side of the
embankment. See attached cross sections.
Critical Sections
Civil Resources observed two sections of the north fill area that were constructed above grade as summarized below:
- West Section: A natural drainage swale exists on the north side of Walker North and this area represents
shallow man-placed fill location. The embankment in this area has an approximate base width of 250 feet and
maximum height of 5.0 feet(spillway el.4946 and native grade at embankment el. of 4941 per Deere-Ault
profile and lidar data, final crest to be 4947). The top width is approximately 80 feet wide and further grading is
being performed to add more fill on the crest and on the downstream side of the embankment.
West Section looking East
East Section:The northeast corner of the North Pond contains a fill area approximately five(5)feet above
native grade(based on lidar data, elevation 4942 and top of embankment 4947). This area has a 40-foot-wide
crest and three horizontal to one vertical (3H:1V)downstream side slopes. Civil Resource met with the SEO on
Tuesday June 1st, 2021 and concluded this is the critical breach section.
