K*mKelleyTruckinglnc.
Earthrnoving Contractors
6201 McIntyre Street . Golden,Colorado 80403
Ph#(303)279-4150 Fax#(303)279-4799
should there be an occurrence that the adversely impacts the hydrologic balance or conditions
at the site the issue will be rectified according to Colorado Laws. For specific information
concerning water and groundwater at the site please refer to Exhibit G.
Reclamation of the mine will require that the revegetated areas remain in compliance with
state Noxious Weed regulations and the Adams County weed control plan (see attachments 1
and 2 of this exhibit for noxious weed lists). Not only required by regulation the control of
noxious weeds is also of benefit to the landowner. By controlling and eradicating the noxious
weeds the land will benefit economically, by being of higher quality cropland and rangeland.
Basic actions will be taken to manage the noxious weeds. Weed management will begin before
the reclamation process begins by properly salvaging the topsoil that will be stripped prior to
mining taking place, reestablishing plants will be difficult otherwise. Information on topsoil
stockpiling and its management can be found elsewhere in the permit application exhibits.
During the course of the mining operations the disturbed area will be monitored for noxious
weed growth, and as much as practicable, minimize the total disturbed area at any one time.
Care will be taken to assure that the seed is planted properly, information on planting
technique can be found in Exhibit E Reclamation Plan. In order to mitigate the possibility of
noxious weed growth while the planted seed mix begins to establish itself the straw mulch will
be verified to be free of any weeds and seed.
While the reclaimed portion(s) of the affected lands' seed begins to establish itself, the areas
will be monitored for any noxious weed growth. If noxious weeds are found to be growing in
the affected lands there are a number of strategies that can be implemented to control the
weeds impact on the affected land. The main method of noxious weed control will be by
mechanical means, which may include hand pulling, mowing and/or digging. If an area of
noxious weeds has become too large or has passed a point that mechanical means will no
longer be a viable option of weed control then chemical options will need to be explored. The
type of herbicide will depend on the species trying to be controlled. If chemical means of weed
control are deemed necessary then an individual, or entity, that is familiar with herbicides and
weeds will be consulted for recommendations on herbicide type, application, safety and any
other areas of concern in the use of chemical products.
Kelley Trucking Inc. is currently exploring options with the City of Aurora (COA) on how to
reclaim the Watkins Road. Depending on our discussions with the City of Aurora the Watkins
Road will either remain in its condition at the conclusion of mining or the road will be removed
and reclaimed as described in this exhibit.
