[6.4.21(7)] Facilities Evaluation
The site of GTM is the former location of Golden Nugget, Donna Juanita &
Gladstone mines. The legacy stockpiles are neither acid-forming nor hazardous
material according to analytical results provided herein as Appendix D. This material
will be used during site development as fill dirt during road construction, feed hopper
ramp construction and backfilling the mill building. There is no acid mine drainage
from any adits or tunnels on the site.
No designated chemicals will be used in processing. The feedstock is tested
for potential acid-forming material prior to acceptance for processing. Only feedstock
that meets the material acceptance criteria will be received at GTM. The ball mill and
shaker tables are a gravity separator that utilizes only water in processing. The ball
mill and shaker table are located inside the metal building.
GTM is an enclosed operation. Neither the feedstock nor the byproducts, the
two stockpiles outside the building, has the chemical ability to geochemically alter
naturally occurring geologic and geochemical conditions. No potential for release of
designated chemicals exists on site. No containment facilities are proposed.
Because GTM is enclosed in a commercial metal building, monitoring systems
outside the building are not proposed. The process water circuit will be tested for pH
twice daily after the dewatering screen. The pH will be tested with either a pH meter
or litmus paper with the target pH range from 6.5 to 8. In the event of upset
conditions, process water will be diverted to a holding tank.
[6.4.21(8 and 9)] Ground Water Information
The GTM is contained within a commercial metal building that will be
constructed according to commercial building code including foundation and concrete
floor design. Groundwater will not be impacted or intercepted by the GTM.
[6.4.21(10 and 11)] Surface Water Information
Exhibit E includes the engineered drainage plan for stormwater runoff as
roadside ditches. All milling and processing will occur inside the commercial metal
building. Site runoff will be limited to only that storm water during precipitation
events or snow melt events.
[6.4.21(12)] Water Quality Monitoring Plan
Because GTM does not use designated chemicals, does not process acid-
forming materials or produce acid-forming materials and because the mill process is
enclosed in a metal commercial building, a water quality monitoring plan is not
provided nor is a CO Discharge Permit required.
[6.4.21(13)] Climate
No liquid containment systems are planned or open to the environment.
[6.4.21(14)] Geochemical Data and Analysis
No mining, on-site solution containment systems or facilities or disposal of
material will occur on site. Feedstock material and byproducts will be stockpiled on
site in concrete containment structures in limited quantities.
