Notice of Intent to conduct Mining Activity
Attachment A.
The Roosevelt Mine has been under active mineral claims by Gold Rush Expeditions, Inc.for many years.
We have conducted surface sampling activities and full documentation of the surface area of the
mineral claims.
We have also sent surveyors into the subsurface workings of the mine, by way of the Roosevelt Tunnel,
The tunnel gate was open and unobstructed when we first surveyed the property in 2015.At that time
we secured a pad lock on the gate when we left to preclude any other access. We have made efforts to
revisit the site at least once per year for the sole purpose of checking the gate and re-locking when
necessary.
We have also conducted 3 subsurface mapping surveys of the property. These have not been complete
due to oxygen levels in the mine starting at roughly 2100' and continuing to degrade to 10.5%oxygen at
3800'.This has required the use of MSA SCBA units which provide roughly 45-60 minutes of oxygen. To
be clear, we have not mapped all of the workings, nor have we completed our sample and assay work. It
is our intent to complete this work within the next 2-years or sooner if environments allow.
At current, our only intent is subsurface access. However, in the future (2023-2024)we would like to
install a ventilation system to move the oxygen through the mine. This will be part of another Notice but
is provided here informationally.
As a part of our obligation to public safety,we would propose the use of signage at the portal. This
would advise the public that there is an active mining operation with a NOI number and contact
information. It would also advise of bad air. This signage could be at our cost with input from the land
manager or could be installed by the land manager at their own cost.
A final aspect of the operation would the be historical significance of the mining artifacts at the site,
there is a large, intact stamp mill, and many foundations of other buildings. In addition the portal to the
mine and the stone work is significant and should be preserved. We would be interested in having an
archaeological assessment of the area to determine areas of special concern.
In conclusion, the main aspect of the prospecting and exploration activity hinges on subsurface access as
it has been in place for our activities.
