Seneca II W AHR 2019
Requirement Requirement citation Comment
13. Filing frequency of pond CDRMS regulation The sediment ponds associated with C 1982057
reports 4.05.9(17) include 05, 06, 09, 015, 016 and 017. Quarterly
pond inspections were conducted in the appropriate
quarter.
14. Timely filing of CDRMS regulation Quarterly pond inspection reports were submitted and
pond reports 4.05.9(17) received by the Division within an appropriate time
frame.
15. Content of pond reports CDRMS regulation All required information was addressed on quarterly
4.05.9(15) sediment pond inspections in water year 2019.
16. Sampling frequency of Tab 15, Appendix 15-3a, Ground water samples are collected from
ground water monitoring Table 1 of CDRMS WHAL7-2, WOV14,WOV17, WOV25, WW14,
wells mining permit C1982057 WW 17, WW25, WSAL14, WSOV25, WSC25,
WWCOV25,WWC25, WWCU25 and,DCAL02
on an annual basis.
17. Parameters to be Tab 15,, Appendix 15- Parameters sampled comprise conductivity
analyzed in ground water 3a,Table 3 of (umhos/cm),pH (units),temperature (C), dissolved
samples CDRMS mining permit fluoride (mg/I), dissolved iron (mg/I), dissolved
C1982057 manganese (mg/I),dissolved nitrate (mg/I), dissolved
nitrite (mg/1), dissolved selenium (ug/1), dissolved
sulfate (mg/1) and total dissolved solids (mg/1). At
measured sites all parameters were met.
18. Basic Standards for CWQCC regulations 41.4 Seneca IIW Mine did not generate significant amount of
Ground Water and 41.5 leachates in 2019. Agricultural ground water standards
were exceeded this year at monitoring wells DCAL02 and
WHAL7-2 (iron and manganese), WOV14 (manganese),
WW14 (boron, iron field pH and manganese),
WWCOV25 and WWCU25 (field pH).
19. Restoration of ground CDRMS regulation For the 2019 water year,it appears that water levels at
water recharge to 4.05.12(3) all wells fell within their historic ranges. All alluvial
approximate pre-mining rate wells displayed seasonal water level fluctuations in
response to periods of precipitation recharge.
Spoil springs(totaling five),may reduce groundwater
recharge by diverting groundwater flow to surface flow.
20. Prevention of adverse CDRMS regulation Compliance with the Basic Standards for ground
impacts to ground water 4.05.11(1) water, as in item 10,indicates the permittee is
systems outside permit area preventing adverse impacts to ground water quality
outside the permit area.
Monitoring data indicate the permittee is preventing
impacts to water quantity outside the permit area.
Hydrology reports indicate that water level at all wells
fell within their historic ranges.
All alluvial wells showed seasonal water level
fluctuations in response to periods of precipitation
or, lack thereof.
