Bowie No. 1 Mine, Tail Track Culverts <br />Design Points 20 through 27 <br />Notes for Calculations: <br />1. Drainage areas were obtained from Map 7. Determining drainage areas was <br />difficult because there were not well defined channels. <br />2. The soil types in the drainage area shown in Volume 7 Map 3 are (3) Agua -Fria <br />Stony Loam, (27) Colona Silty Clay Loam, (70) Saraton /Aqua -Fria Complex and <br />(80) Utaline/Torriortehents Complex. <br />3. Agua -Fria and Colona are soil type C. Utaline is soil type B. Soil Type C used to <br />develop curve numbers. <br />4. The vegetation types in the drainage area are shown in Volume 7 Map 2. <br />5. A curve number of 74 for the agricultural vegetation type is obtained from Table <br />2 -2c. Runoff cure numbers for other agricultural lands, Pasture in good condition, <br />soil type C. <br />6. A curve number of 73 for the Pinyon Juniper vegetation type is obtained from <br />Table 2 -2d. Runoff cure numbers for and and semi -arid rangelands, Pinyon - <br />juniper in fair condition, soil type C. <br />7. A curve number of 87 for the Disturbed area is obtained from Table 2 -2d. Runoff <br />cure numbers for and and semi -arid rangelands, Herbaceous in poor condition, <br />soil type C. <br />8. The Fire Mountain Canal cuts off drainage areas to the North. Stevens Gulch <br />road provides a drainage area break for design points 25, 26 and 27. <br />9.
