NOTICE OF TERMINATION OF JURISDICTION <br /> The Colorado Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety has begun the process of terminating <br /> its jurisdiction over the Southfield Mine,Permit No. C-1981-014. The underground mining <br /> activity was undertaken by Energy Fuels Coal,Inc.under the provisions of the Colorado Surface <br /> Coal Mining Reclamation Act.The affected area is located in Fremont County,approximately 10 <br /> miles south of Florence,Colorado. The remaining portions of the permit areas lay within Sections <br /> 19 and 30;Township 20S,Range 69N of the 6th P.M.; and Section 25;Township 20S,Range 70 <br /> W of the 6th P.M.The permit area consists of three non-contiguous areas totaling approximately <br /> 1.45 acres.Termination of jurisdiction is being sought for the entire 1.45 acres. The surface and <br /> coal mined were under private ownership. <br /> The Southfield Mine is a formerly permitted coal mine operated by Energy Fuels Coal,Inc. The <br /> Mined Land Reclamation Board revoked the operating permit and forfeited the reclamation bond <br /> in 2018.As provided for in Colorado Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act,the Division <br /> normally assumes the task of performing reclamation of the site.However,reclamation has been <br /> performed at the Southfield Mine by Energy Fuels Coal,Inc.which the Division has continued <br /> inspecting and monitoring since the date of revocation. <br /> Written comments,objections and requests for an informal conference or a formal public hearing <br /> before the Mined Land Reclamation Board may be submitted to the Colorado Division of <br /> Reclamation,Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman Street,Room 215,Denver,CO 80203 within 30 <br /> days of the last publication of this notice. <br />
