OUR4Y SLVM MINES <br /> Most above ground piping is located within areas that are not accessible to vehicular traffic. <br /> Warning signs are posted at appropriate locations to prevent vehicles from damaging above <br /> ground piping and appurtenances. <br /> Part 5: Discharge Response (40 CFR 112.7(a)(5)) <br /> This section describes the response and cleanup procedures in the event of a hydrocarbon <br /> discharge.The uncontrolled discharge of hydrocarbon to ground water and surface water is <br /> prohibited by state and federal laws. Immediate action must be taken to control, contain and <br /> recover discharged product. Depending on the volume and characteristics of the material <br /> release,the operator has a defined spill response role as either"Minor' or "Major" spill <br /> response. <br /> Discharge response and reporting applies to all areas of the Revenue Mine, including <br /> underground. <br /> 5.1 Minor Spill Response <br /> A 'Minor" discharge is defined as one outside of secondary containment not affecting ground <br /> water or surface water and can be safely controlled or cleaned up by site personnel. <br /> If the spill is less than 10 gallons, not affecting ground water or surface water, prevent further <br /> material from being spilled. When the spill is contained, notify the Environmental Specialist and <br /> Site Manager. <br /> If greater than 10 gallons and not affecting ground water or surface water, then notify the Site <br /> Manager and/or other Senior Management who will notify the CDPHE Office of Emergency <br /> Preparedness and Response. <br /> The EPA National Response Center will be notified if a spill of any size reaches ground water or <br /> surface water or adjoining shorelines. <br /> The Site Manager or designee will complete the OSMI Spill Notification/Documentation Form <br /> (Minor Spill) and notify the Environmental Department and Senior Management. <br /> Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan 26 1 P a g e <br />
