Parkdale Quarry Expansion Project

Attachment 16.0 – Utility Plan

The only permanent utilities on the site are the Black Hill Electric lines that run overhead on poles along
the southern side of the Martin Marietta-owned portion of the site, and a fiber-optic communication
line that enters the site at County Road 115, and is attached to Black Hills Energy power poles. All other
utilities are temporary for the life of the operation, and will be removed during final reclamation of the
site. Water for sanitation uses is provided from a storage tank that is filled from off site. Septic waste on
the site is collected in porta-potties or in holding tanks that are pumped out on a regular basis so that
septic waste can be disposed of off site. There is no natural gas on the site. There are no plans at this
time to add additional permanent utilities on the site. The location of the Black Hills power poles is
shown on the Pre-Mining Site Plan maps in Attachment 17.
