I am concerned that the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and
Safety has not thoroughly reviewed the Summit County Lower Blue Master Plan, which the
gravel operation would clearly violate - namely, to "preserve and enhance the basin's
tremendous natural resources, including its spectacular vistas, diverse wildlife and ecosystems,
and pristine air and water quality."
The proposed gravel operation would fly smack in the face of this Master Plan. Imagine the
noise of grinding gravel, the incredible increase in truck traffic, the Blue River disruption and
how that would harm fish and wildlife, and the impact on open spaces and recreation, for which
Summit County is known nationwide.
1 beseech you to consider the community that would suffer from the approval of this gravel
operation. It's the responsibility of state employees to pay attention to the interests and
wellbeing of Colorado citizens. Please do the right thing and do not approve this expansion.
Thgk you, c -
Cindy St ua
PO Box 2821
Silverthorne, CO 80498
