COLORADO
Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
5 April 2021
Miranda Kawcak
Moffat County Mining, LLC
29515 Routt County Road #27
Oak Creek, CO 80467
RE: Williams Fork Mine Permit; C1981044
Sediment Pond Inspections DRMS Review 2020 Quarter 3
Dear Ms. Kawcak:
Thank you for your submittal of the 2020 quarter three pond report for the Williams Fork Mine. The Colorado
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (The Division), has reviewed the above referenced report. The
report was received by The Division on 30 March 2021. Sediment pond inspections were conducted by Jenna
Spencer P.E. of Moffat County Mining on 22 September 2020.
This report appears to be in compliance with the applicable sections of Rule 4.05.9. No maintenance items
were noted during the inspection with the exception of the weir at outfall 022. This weir is showing signs of rust,
allowing water to seep while flowing. This should be replaced.
As of April 2021, the following ponds have been proposed for phase III release 9AP3, 9AP4. Other ponds with
Phase III release comprise 9AP1. Ponds proposed for Phase I reclamation status comprise numerous ponds along
the west side of the Williams Fork River and include the waste water treatment ponds. All ponds were dry at the
time of inspection with sediment levels were observed to be less than 10%. Sediment storage was adequate for all
ponds at time of inspection
With the exception of the weir at outfall 022 requiring replacement, the Division has no concerns.
Best Regards,
Robin Reilley, M.S.
