Exhibit C—Mining Plan
This pit is already in operation.
Topsoil is minimal in this area and would range from two to zero inches deep.
No overburden is expected in this operation as the sand and gravel are readily available at the surface.
The sand and gravel has historically been surface to approximately ten to fifteen feet deep in this
operation.
The pit excavation will be twelve to fifteen feet in depth in the center with the appropriate 3:1 sloping
to the edges.
The mining operation will continue in a southern direction from the existing affected area. The mining
will be done in approximately five acre increments throughout the additional ten acres. Each five acre
area will be in operation for approximately 10 years, adding another 20 years to the operation.
The mining will occur with loaders and backhoes scraping any usable topsoil and placing it in a stockpile.
This stockpile will be vegetated and maintained in a manner consistent with DRMS regulations.
The sand and gravel will then be removed with loaders and hauled out of the area of operation with
belly dump style trucks.
This operation should not create water diversions or impoundments. Rainfall in this area is minimal. All
rainfall should be easily absorbed by the high sand and gravel content of the pit area.
The mining will be intended to collect the sand and gravel that this area has historically consisted of.
This operation should not contain secondary commodities.
The sand and gravel that will be collected in this operation will be used for maintenance of existing and
the building of new county roads. It may be mixed with a small stockpiles of millings that is brought on
site from external sources.
No water will be used in this operation.
No groundwater should be exposed in this operation.
No explosives or chemicals will be used or stored on site in this operation.
No secondary commodities are expected.
