The reclamation liability prior to SL-2 was $4,113,573.04. Based on the maximum bond eligible for
release amount from Table 3, the minimum new reclamation liability is $2,273,966.33 (that is,
$4,113,573.04 - $1,839,606.71).
The Division estimates the cost to complete the reclamation tasks remaining at the Elk Creek Mine to be
$2,100,881, based on subtracting the cost of the tasks associated with SL-2 from the most recent site -wide
Reclamation Cost Estimate (SL-1/RN-7).
Since the minimum new reclamation liability ($2,273,966.33) exceeds the estimated cost of remaining
reclamation ($2,100,881), the maximum eligible amount ($1,839,606.71) will be released with SL-2. The
amount of bond to be released is summarized in Table 4.
Following the issuance of SL-2 the new reclamation liability for the Elk Creek Mine will be
$2,273,966.33.
