The revision was submitted by New Elk Coal Company, LLC. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. Adds a drill locations within the Lorencito Permit Area. Also, addresses outstanding issues from Midterm Review-05. The applicant is not proposing additional surface disturbance outside of the area currently approved for disturbance. The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 3 miles West of Segundo on Hwy 12. The permit area is further described as follows: Lands south of the Middle Fork of the Purgatorie River, lands east of Cow Canyon, lands north of the Puertecito Canyon, and lands west of Lorencito Canyon, covering approximately 3,142 acres. The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map(s): Little Pine Canyon.
