(Original Question) Rule 6.4.5 (1) requires specific depths of topsoil and overburden to be <br /> placed. Please provide a statement of the depth of topsoil to be replaced and how the topsoil <br /> and overburden will be stabilized from wind and water erosion. <br /> a. (Follow-Up Question) In the adequacy review response it is stated "The replaced <br /> overburden and topsoil depths at the end of mining would be equal to average <br /> overburden and topsoil depths measured during the boring of the exploration pits...we <br /> estimate these depths to be approximately 5 feet both for overburden and topsoil." The <br /> original mining plan submittal indicated that topsoil and overburden depths were about <br /> six feet deep on average. Please clarify this discrepancy? <br /> 6.4.12 Exhibit L— Reclamation Costs <br /> 4. The reclamation cost estimate does not include the cost for replacing 5 to 6 feet of overburden <br /> over the 125 acres mining phase. Please update the reclamation cost estimate to include this <br /> cost. <br /> This concludes the Division's adequacy review of amendment application. The Division is required to <br /> issue a decision on the application by February 25, 2021. The adequacy issue listed above must be <br /> addressed to the Division's satisfaction prior to the decision date, please submit your adequacy <br /> response no later than three days prior to the decision date. If you need additional time to address <br /> these issues you must request an extension of the decision date.
