6.3.2 Exhibit 6
Site Description
The GTM will be constructed and operated on the historic disturbance of the
Golden Nugget, Donna Juanita & Gladstone mines, south of I-70 and Clear Creek.
The soils in the approximate four-acre mill area are primarily rock outcrop and
historic mine spoils. The NRCS web soil survey and soil series descriptions are
provided in herein.
Permanent man-made structures within 200 ft. of the affected area include an
Xcel Energy utility distribution poles. These structures are identified on Exhibit E and
structure agreement are provided in Exhibit L.
The Clear Creek streambed lies north of Stanley Road, north of the mill site.
GTM is designed with a recirculating process water system. The wet processing
component will be enclosed in a metal building. Mill process water will not be
discharged from the site.
Storm water will be conveyed from the site by way of the roadside ditches.
The ditches will converge with the culvert and drainage system of Stanley Road.
Stormwater run-off from mill structures and storage pads will be conveyed to sumps
with gravel/sand traps. This storm water will be conveyed into the process water
tank.
Mr. Mark Lamb and Mr. Joseph Walter of CO Department of Parks and Wildlife
were sent the draft site plan and mill description on January 19, 2021. A site visit is
anticipated but not scheduled at the time of this application.
