The propane usage is based on a set of bird and
wildlife cannons that would need to be managed around the evaporation pond. Additional water
management options will be evaluated if the NF option is selected for further design.
Waste haulage is listed as a daily operation but is actually an annual campaign activity performed on
alternating cells in the fall. This is expected to be covered by existing personnel on site.
An allowance for mechanics and electricians for plant maintenance is included, but environmental
sampling and site engineering oversite is assumed to be within the capacity of the operating mine site
staff.
Table 4. Labor included is for periodic checks on equipment and periodic consulting hours for a
microbiologist or bioreactor engineer throughout the year to assess the ongoing performance of the
system. A 500-hour allowance for this periodic activity is considered to be conservatively high.
Unlike the NF membrane separation option, mechanical and electrical support is assumed to be within
the current capacity of the site staff given that the number of motors and electrical equipment is drastically
reduced in comparison.
The allowance for Zero Valent Iron (ZVI) powder that is provided assumes fouling of 30% of the material
that is placed into the bioreactor media bed. Although this fouling may not occur in the early stages of
operation, it is likely to occur overtime.
dpg \\us0321-ppfss011shared_projectsV33001407\reports\4_tre lines of investigationitre lines of investigation_20200320_ifra.docx 3.16
