RE: Ellicott Sand & Gravel LLC - Schubert Ranch Sand Resource
M.L.R.B. Permit # M-2018-063
On behalf of my client Ellicott Sand & Gravel LLC I am petitioning the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for a one (1) year extension to post
the Financial Warranty for this mining operation. This request is in
response to the Notice of Past Due Financial warranty sent on December 11,
2020.
The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety approved the applica-
tion on November 6, 2019 so the 365 days to post the financial warranty has
expired and Ellicott Sand & Gravel LLC needs additional time. We are asking
for a 1 year extend to post by date to November 6, 2021. At this time we
are still working with the local government, E1 Paso County, to obtain the
necessary permits so mining can begin.
Preparation of the El Paso County Conditional Use Permit began in
September 2019 and was filed on March 11, 2020. It is still working its way
through the staff review process and they will not give us an estimate for
when it will be ready for the first hearing. There is no guarantee we will
get this permit so, Ellicott Sand & Gravel LLC wishes to hold off posting
the Financial Warranty until they have a clearer picture of what the County
will do.
Ellicott Sand and Gravel LLC will be represented by me at the hearing
to answer any questions you may have.
