PERMIT#:M-2009-054
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS:DC 1
INSPECTION DATE:November 30,2020
OBSERVATIONS
This was a request for release inspection conducted at the Proctor Pit site by DRMS representative DJ
Cunningham. No one was present during the inspection to represent the Operator. This site is an active, 51
acre, 112c permit, currently in reclamation.
The site identification sign was posted at the mine entrance and the permit boundary were marked. The area
was reclaimed at a gradient of 3H:1V or flatter in most parts. Natural vegetation has been established in
almost all areas of the permit. Roughly 45 acres of the permit has been fully reclaimed with good vegetation
established.
There is a 2.5 acre area with no vegetation located on the eastern side of the permit. The area is larger now
than it was during the August 11, 2020 inspection. The Operator did place waddles along the hill side to try to
help prevent seeds from being carried off of the barren area. Furthermore, another 3 acres has lost vegetation
coverage compared to the August inspection. This is most likely due to the drought that has occurred this
year.
Due to the increased barren area the Division does not feel that enough reclamation work has been
completed at this time.
The Division recommends the Operator to continue to try to establish vegetation in this area and reseed the
area in the fall and early spring.
