Exhibit L - RECLAMATION COSTS
This reclamation cost estimate is based on the assumption that no more than 10.0 acres will need some
form of reclamation at any one time. Of these 10 acres, approximately 7.0 acres would be stripped,
active mining and processing areas and the remaining 3.0 acres would be,partially reclaimed area. This
is based on a worst-case scenario i.e.,at a time when the greatest area will need some form of
reclamation as shown on Map Exhibit C-1 Mining Plan Map. The plan allows for a maximum of 300
linear feet of bank sloping to backfill grade the mining face from near vertical to 3h to 1v as proposed in
the Reclamation Plan.A D6T Cat dozer will be used to backfill the slopes using material generated by
mining and/or brick waste and pushing that material up against the face to create the 3h to 1v slope.
(15'high bank—12.5 yd/ft). The volume of material needed to backfill 300 feet of mining face to a 3H to
1V slope is 300'x 12.5 yd/ft=3,750 cubic yards.
A dozer or motor scraper will be used to place the root zone and resoil the area. A 140G Cat motor
grader will be used to shape the seedbed, the slopes and the resoiled areas. We have included the cost
to reduce the working face highwall using a D6T Cat dozer from near vertical to 3:1 if mining ends
prematurely. The table below outlines the various areas of disturbance under this scenario. These
figures are then used in the calculations for the bond amount.
TABLE K
ACTIVITY TOTAL SOIL DEPTH
REBOILING 7.0 AC 3"
ROOT ZONE PLACEMENT 7.0 AC 3"
GRADING SEEDBED 7.0 AC
NEEDS SEEDING 10.0 AC
RESOIL @ 3" 2,283 Cu.Yds.
ROOT ZONE @ 3" 2,283 Cu.Yds.
BACKFILL SLOPING 3,750 Cu.Yds.
SECONDARY REVEGETATION 25%
ESTIMATED UNIT COSTS FOR RECLAMATION ITEMS:
UNIT COST
i Revegetation includes grass seed mix, mulct
1. .a_. seop'gie. and labor -- Formatted:Indent:Hanging: 0.4",Space
m
i Before: 4.7 pt,Outline numbered+Level:1+
to df4broa dcast seed.. .. .. ......... ............... ..... .... .... ..$650.00/AC.** i Numbering Style:1,2,3,...+Start at: 1+
2.
