What type(s) of material or metal is/are proposed to be extracted and describe the <br /> physical nature of the site i.e., river terrace, rocky knob, in-stream gravel deposit, <br /> etc.? <br /> Slag pile is located within 2 miles of downtown Leadville, Colorado (See <br /> Figure 1) The slag is located in a delisted California Gulch Superfund <br /> Operable unit 03. (See Figure 2) The slag has been approved to use for <br /> aggregate use. EPA Superfund activities and conclusions are presented in o <br /> 4. What processing or extraction method(s) will be used on site? Include any <br /> equipment or chemical(s) that will be used in the processing and extraction of the <br /> materials. <br /> The slag has hppn processed (srrePned)and separated into several discrete <br /> �ggrenate classifications for specific uses. The slag is ready to move to <br /> market. The material may need to be screened for specific uses but no <br /> additional processina is reauired. No chemicals will be used. o <br /> 5. Will the extracted material be hauled offsite or used on the same parcel of <br /> property where the material is extracted? <br /> The material will he loaded (front end loaders) and hauled offsite. Prosy <br /> post uses have not been approved by Lake County yet however many <br /> 6. How will the extracted material be used on site? <br /> The material will not be on used on site <br /> 7. If the material is hauled offsite, where will it be hauled to and what it the intended <br /> use? <br /> Th�qregate material will supply local needs as well as the <br /> Denver-Boulder-Colorado Springs. and Fort Collins needs.
