4. Stormwater—Diversions and Impoundments. <br /> Surface water from storms, known as stormwater runoff, will be collected in the mining pit <br /> during operations. As shown on Map G-1, the local drainage area consists principally of the 23 '/4 <br /> West Pit and immediate area. The pit will act as a sediment pond during operations.No diversion <br /> of upstream waters will occur. Impounding of water will only be temporary,to trap sediment, <br /> with all stormwater runoff leaving the site within 72 hours.
