COLORADO
\/ Division of Reclamation,
® Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
Date: September 29,2020
To: Tabetha Lynch
CC: Jason Musick
From: Zach Trujillo
RE: Foidel Creek Mine,DRMS File No.C-1982-056
Foidel Creek Mine MR20-317 Second Review Memo
Tabetha,
As requested I have reviewed Foidel Creek Mine's (Foidel)response to the Division's adequacy letter
dated September 21,2020 for the proposed suspension bridge for a 200-foot section of the Overland Belt.
In my original interoffice memo,I requested for Foidel to provide information on how the proposed
suspension bride will resist potential ground movement and remain stable.Foidel has provided additional
information that has satisfied my request.Based on what has been provided, the proposed anchor and
caisson areas have been monitored over the past three years and no movement has occurred. The anchors
are placed an additional fifty feet beyond the caissons in an area with a lower gradient and well outside of
the known slide area as well.Foidel states that based on site knowledge and monitoring, they do not
foresee any potential shift or movement that would affect the stability of the suspension bridge based on
the location of the anchors and caissons.
I have no remaining comments and this concludes my review of Foidel's MR20-317. If you have any
questions,feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Zach Trujillo
Environmental Protection Specialist
(303) 866-3567 ext. 8164
Zach.Trujillogstate.co.us
Foidel Creek Mine MR20-317 Memo September 17,2020
4F COlO
I H o
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106 http://mining.state.co.us
Jared S.
