- PERMIT#:M-2001-033
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS:DC
INSPECTION DATE:August 11,2020
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine monitoring inspection conducted at the Rough Cut Pit site by DRMS representative DJ
Cunningham. Mr. Keith Tucker was present during the inspection representing the Operator. This site is an
active,467 acre, 112c permit, where 76 acres has been disturbed to date. The site was active at the time of
the inspection.
The site identification sign was posted at the mine entrance and the permit boundary were marked with metal
posts. The site is separated into three distinct areas;the first site where active mining is occurring; the second
site where reclamation work is occurring; and a third site that is in revegetation.
At the first site, topsoil was being stored on the western edge of the area. There were several large stockpiles
of material on site and a 20 foot high by 1500 foot long high wall. The area also had the processing equipment
on it. Material was actively being transported from this site during the inspection. There were no issues noted
in this area.
The second site, located North West of the first site, was actively being reclaimed during the inspection.
Several large stockpiles were located on the site and an area with concrete blocks.A dozer was moving topsoil
from the first site to the second site during the inspection for reclamation. No major issues were noted.
The final area is in active revegetation. No major erosional issues were noted and natural vegetation was seen
throughout the area.
The Operator went out of their way to ensure the maximum disturbance did not go beyond what is in the
permit.
The Division currently holds a corporate surety in the amount of$193,000.00. Based on the observations
made during this inspection, the Division finds this to be adequate for reclamation.
