Mr. Joel Riggins accompanied the
inspector and represented GCC Energy. COVID-19 safety protocols were followed.
The area had receivd some rain the previous night and Saturday 8/22. Joel checked the rain gage readings
and reported that the mine revived 0.15" of precipitaion on 8/22, and 0.2" of precipitation on 8/24/2020.
AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION—Rule 4.17:
A water truck was operating at King II facilities at the time of the inspector's arrival on site.
County road 120 was damp, indicating that it had recently been watered.
The "windows" in the stackers remain intact. No dust was observed blowing from the stackers or air jig
during the inspection.
A dozer was grading refuse at the lower refuse pile at King I. The material was damp enough (rain the
previous night) that dusk was not being generated during the grading activity.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,
4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones
4.05.18:
The North Clearwater ditch at King I was walked. This ditch remains in good condition after the
summer thunderstorms. Particular notice was taken at the interface of the shotcreted portion of the ditch
where it transitions from the native soil. No undercutting of the shotcrete had occurred during the recent
precipitation events. This transition has held up well. There was also no evidence of significant soil
movement down this steep reach of the ditch.
King I west clearwater diversion ditch has also held up well with no evidence of the rip rap cobbles
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: I
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 2 of 6
