COMMENTS
A complete inspection was conducted by Rob Zuber of DRMS on August 12, 2020. Basil Bear of Wolverine Fuels
(parent company of Bowie Resources, LLC, aka BRL) was at the Bowie No. 2 Mine, and he did not participated in
the field inspection. He was not present for the records check in the BRL office because of social distancing due
to the Covid-19 disease.
The weather was hot and clear, and the ground was dry. Some of the site was only viewed from afar (e.g., West
Mine and reclaimed Ponds 3 and 4), as that was sufficient to detect major problems. The on -the -ground portion of
the inspection was approximately three hours long, in the morning. The records check was performed later in the
afternoon, after the Bowie No. 2 Mine was inspected.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS — Rule 5.02.4(1):
The records were found to be very well organized and mostly complete, although the most recent DRMS
inspection report and the second quarter 2020 rill and gully survey were not found in the DRMS records binder.

The ponds at the loadout, the Coal Storage Area (near loadout), and at the West Mine were dry, and no problems
were identified with these ponds. The primary spillway at the loadout pond appears to be functioning, although it
is difficult to see in the pipe.
The erosion control BMPs below the Refuse Disposal Area are functioning. The BMPs at the ROM pond are
functioning but should be inspected often as they are not in good shape.
No issues were identified with any channels, including the channels at the East Mine.
