The LTF underdrain system was visually
inspected July 30,2020 and the flow rate was measured to be approximately 32.5 gallons per minute(gpm).
West Pit Waste Water Treatment Plant
During the month of July 2020, the West Pit Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) was operated under
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) CDPS Permit No. C00045675 and
discharged 6,966,300 gallons (21.4 acre-feet) of treated water into the Rito Seco alluvial aquifer and
445,000 gallons(1.37 acre-feet)water was transferred from the West Pit to the LTF. There was no sludge
transferred from the WWTP drying pad to the LTF.
BMRI performed the monthly visual seepage expression inspections on July 30,2020 in the historic seepage
area identified in Figure 2 of the permit. No seepage expressions were observed in the historic seepage
area.
BMRI measured the monthly West Pit backfill, alluvial and monitoring wells as required under in the
QA/QC Plan. Measurements obtained for the monthly wells are shown in Table 3.
Table 3-Monthly and Quarterly Groundwater Depth to Water
Monitoring Well Identification Observation Date Depth to Water
ft
BF-4 07/30/2020 24.97
BF-5R 07/30/2020 30.84
BF-6 07/30/2020 30.97
M-6 07/30/2020 DRY
M-7 07/30/2020 DRY
M-8 07/30/2020 DRY
M-9 07/30/2020 141.52
M-10 07/30/2020 25.02
M-1111 07/30/2020 37.89
M-12 07/30/2020 175.07
M-13R 07/30/2020 125.82
M-14 07/30/2020 130.98
M-16 07/30/2020 22.88
M-17 07/30/2020 30.55
M-18 07/30/2020 26.80
