<br />CC&V Wildlife Protection Plan <br /> <br />S&ER <br /> <br /> Department THIS DOCUMENT IS UNCONTROLLED IN HARD COPY FORMAT Doc Id: NNA-CCV-ER-Plan - E_042 <br /> CCV S&ER Date of This Issue: 2/20/2019 Date of Next Review: 2/20/2022 Page 6 of 13 <br />4.2 Biodiversity <br /> <br />Every reasonable effort shall be made to increase biodiversity in the post-mining environment, including variability in <br />soil conditions, slope aspect, and slope severity. <br />4.3 Sustainability <br /> <br />Post-mining land use planning should incorporate features that will not require maintenance for biotic and functional <br />sustenance. Examples include: <br />• Vegetation seed mix including native species <br />• Storm-water control features that are permanent in nature <br /> <br />5 Reporting Wildlife Findings <br />5.1 Injured or Sick Wildlife <br /> <br />When wildlife is found injured or sick on or near CC&V property, the following procedure must be followed <br />immediately. <br /> <br />• Ensure employee safety is not compromised at the scene while analyzing the situation <br />• Contact S&ER Department <br />• Document the following information as is pertinent and provide to S&ER <br />o Time found <br />o Location found or last seen <br />o Species involved (e.g., elk, deer, fox, etc.) <br />o Number of animals involved <br />o Cause of injury or sickness, if known. <br />o Symptoms observed <br />o Action taken to help the animal, if applicable <br />• Identify needed measures to prevent reoccurrence of the incident <br />• Assist S&ER, as necessary, to care for the animal appropriately and <br />• Incorporate needed measures to prevent reoccurrence of the incident <br /> <br />Wildlife incidents, including near misses, are to be reported in Cintellate, CC&V’s electronic reporting system, within <br />24 hours of the event. <br /> <br />The current officer for Teller County is Tim Kroening – Office (719)-227-5200, Cell (719)-227-5281. If a wildlife <br />emergency is occurring and CPW can’t be immediately contacted, call Colorado State Patrol at (719)-544-2424 and <br />have CSP dispatch the on-call CPW officer. <br /> <br />5.2 Wildlife Mortalities <br /> <br />When wildlife mortalities occur on CC&V property, the following procedure must be followed as soon as reasonably <br />possible. <br /> <br />• Ensure employee safety is not compromised at the scene while analyzing the situation <br />• Contact S&ER Department
