NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety proposes to withdraw Permit Revision Application No. 12, submitted by Twentymile Coal, LLC for a coal mining permit at the Foidel Creek Mine (Permit No. C-1982-056). PR-12 originally proposed to include development and longwall mining of additional coal reserve within the Wolf Creek Coal Seam associated with a Federal Coal Lease by Application (LBA) to the permit. The LBA is within the current Foidel Creek Mine Permit Area and includes approximately 640 acres and 4.12 million tons of recoverable coal. A 414.0 acre increase to the permit affected area was proposed, and addressed mining all or portions of four longwall panels (1-East through 4-East) within the Wolf Creek Reserve. The Foidel Creek Mine is a/an underground operation located in Routt County, approximately 23 miles Southwest of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Coal interest is federal, state and private, and the surface to be affected is federal, state and private land. The permit area encompasses approximately 22,647.00 acres. This proposed decision is based on a finding that the proposed operation will comply with all requirements of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34-33-101, et seq., C.R.S., and the regulations promulgated thereunder. Copies of the proposed decision, including any stipulations, are on file for public inspection at the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215, Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203 . Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board on the proposed decision. Such request must be made within thirty (30) days of the initial publication of this notice, must be in writing, and must state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the request and the objections to the proposed decision.
