EXHIBIT G
EROSION CONTROL RIFLE PIT
The Rifle Pit location will have a storm water permit that will be included in the
operation of this pit. Please see the following narrative that will be used for this
operation. Scott Contracting will follow all required permit guidelines.
Scott Contracting will use earth berms around the property, as identified on the plans.
The berms will be built per the attached drawing and compacted in place as they are
constructed. Once construction of the berms is completed, they will be temporarily
seeded. The pit will be mined in phases and the berms will be built in phases as mining
moves through the property to minimize disturbances and confine them to smaller
areas. The attached phasing map further illustrates the mining/phasing plan.
The perimeter ditch along the property boundary will utilize check dams to regulate
the flow of water and minimize and disturbance. The check dams are also identified on
the attached drawing and will be constructed per the detail provided therein.
To keep equipment operating during mining, Scott Contracting will also keep fuel on-
site at the property, stored in a double-wall tank that satisfies all state requirements.
A berm will be constructed around the tanks, and the area will be lined with plastic for
containment. The tanks and storage area will be inspected weekly, with corresponding
documentation maintained per state specifications. Additionally, a spill prevention
plan for any materials that are stored or used at the site is attached.
As referenced elsewhere, dewatering operations will be necessary to eliminate surface
water and maintain low groundwater levels during mining operations. Scott Contracting
will obtain a dewatering permit prior to any dewatering activities, and will follow all
corresponding requirements, including periodic reporting.
The berms constructed around the mining area will contain all runoff within the mining
area; therefore, no additional containment measures will be necessary.
Trucks will be traveling on a gravel surface in the pit area, which will minimize any
tracking from the pit property.
Weekly and monthly inspections will be performed per the permit requirements and
inspection documentation will always be maintained and available at the on-site scale
house. The proposed inspection work sheet to be used at the site is attached.
The tail water ditch that currently bisects the property will be relocated outside the
berm area, and will be utilized to catch and transport any run off from the surrounding
property (as it does currently). The purpose of relocating the tail water ditch is to
maintain and manage run off from storm events, and regulate any surface water
entering the property.
