Information below outlined the specifics of the
well reinstall.
On July 22,2020,HRL Compliance Solutions Inc.(HRL)and Greg Lewicki and Associates,PLLC
(GLA)with the help from personnel at CSQ,reinforced the sump basin by repositioning the marble
blocks surrounding the well to create a 5'x5'x5' cell. A section of poly culvert approximately 24"
in diameter was placed into the bottom of the cell and crushed gravel was used to backfill around
the outside of the poly culvert. The bottom five feet of the poly culvert was slotted prior to
installation.
Two (2) threaded five-foot sections of screened stainless steel piping, equipped with a stainless
steel cap on the bottom, were installed within the poly culvert section. Steel piping extends
approximately nine (9) feet to the bottom, where the original depth of the sump was observed
during the initial spill response. Crushed gravel was placed around the steel slotted intervals and
was repositioned as needed to ensure the well remained vertical. A threaded solid 10-foot stainless
steel stem riser was added to allow CSQ personnel to continue with fill and grading operations in
the sump basin and the northern dump area. Additional threaded riser sections may be added in
10-foot intervals, as needed.
INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS DELIVERED
