These piles are associated with
roads, and are permanent features. Their
slopes appeared stable and well vegetated
with desirable vegetation such as rye and
orchard grasses and in some instances,
naturalizing sage.
SLIDES and OTHER DAMAGE- Rule 4.12
The site, in the past, has experienced soil
movement in the form of slumps and
slides. At the time of inspection no
evidence of recent new movement was
observed and historic slide areas
appeared stable.
o Due to slope and aspect, slide and
slumped areas tend to be sparsely
vegetated.
Photo 5: Constructed drainage PM20 in parcel 140.
REVEGETATION- Rule 4.15 General Requirements 4.15.1
Vegetation on parcels requested for release were dominantly diverse, healthy, and well established.
Elymus cinereus (Great basin wild rye), Agropyron smithii (western wheatgrass), Symphoricaropos
XX (snowberry), Artemisia alnifolia (silver sage), Ericameria nauseosa (rubber rabbitbrush), Acer
negundo (boxelder), Rosa woodsia (woods rose), Achillea millefolium (western yarrow), Medicago
sativa (alfalfa), Melilotus officinalis (yellow clover), Linum lewisii (lewis flax), and numerous other
desirable species were noted throughout the inspection comprising a mix of forbs, grasses and shrubs.
Weedy areas comprised of Bromus tectorum (cheat grass) or Cirsium arvense (Canada thistle) were
noted. Cynoglossum officinale (houndstounge), considered an invasive species was noted throughout the
site. Presence of weeds can be associated with the cattle grazing occurring on the site and appears not to
negatively impact the reclamation success. Weed treatment was evident throughout the site. All parcels
exhibited healthy and diverse vegetation.
o Reclamation and revegetation have been completed at this site.
o No extensive areas devoid of vegetation or, expansive areas of weeds were noted at the time of
inspection with the exception of instances noted above.
o Reclamation appeared stable with well established vegetation some of which was beginning to
turn from early summer green to late summer gold and brown.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: I
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
