fzi COLORADO <br />10.0 Division of Reclamation, <br />® Mining and Safety <br />Department of Natural Resources <br />1313 Sherman St. Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />July 29, 2020 <br />Garfield County Commissioners <br />County Commissioner <br />109 8th Street, Suite 200 <br />Glenwood Springs, CO 81601-3355 <br />Re: Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine (Permit No. C-1984-065) <br />Bond Release Application No. 3 (SL -3) <br />Dear Garfield County Commissioners: <br />This letter, as required by Rule 3.03.2(5)(a) of the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined <br />Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining, is to inform you that the Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety has issued a proposed decision to approve Bond Release Application No. 3 for <br />the Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine. This decision will be published in the CO Mtn News Glenwood <br />Springs Post Independent as soon as possible. Publication of the notice initiates a thirty (30) day <br />public comment period. If, within thirty days, there are no requests for an adjudicatory hearing, <br />the decision will become final. <br />SL -03 is a Phase III Bond Release and termination of the Division's jursidiction of the Coal Ridge <br />No. 1 Mine. This decision constitutes a full release of reclamation liability for the Coal Ridge <br />No. 1 Mine. Pursuant to Rule 3.03.3(1), the Division is proposing to terminate its jurisdiction over <br />this entire coal mining operation. <br />As an interested party, you have the right to an adjudicatory hearing as outlined under Rule <br />3.03.2(6) of the Rules and Regulations. The request for an adjudicatory hearing must be written <br />and state with specificity the reasons why the hearing is requested. The request must be received <br />within thirty days of the first publication of the proposed decision in the CO Mtn News Glenwood <br />Springs Post Independent. <br />Copies of the proposed decision and findings are available for review at the Division office at the <br />above address and on the Division's website at <br />http://mining.state.co.us/RMorts/MiningData/Pa e- s�/ImagedDocumentData.aspx.
