RECLAMATION PLAN EXHIBIT D
6.3 .4 - Final grading will be such that the topography is
appropriate to the reclaimed use of the property, i.e. , as a private
home site. The east slope left when material removal ends will be
graded 3h to lv and the floor of the mine will be flat and daylight
out along the south, west and north sides . The RECLAMATION PLAN MAP-
ExHIBIT E-2 shows how we think the area will look when it is reclaimed.
Reclamation will begin once the final floor level has been
reached. The disturbed area will be shaped to match the final
configuration needed to shape the building envelope area, the stock
piles of topsoil will be spread on the east slope an average of 8
inches and the large stockpiles of dirty sand and dirt will be spread
evenly over the gravel floor (-14" deep) . The Development area will
not be resoiled until construction ends . However, it will be tempo-
rarily seeded if development does not begin before seeding is re-
quired. If the revegetation areas are ready after the ideal planting
time seeding will be done the first growing season after recoiling
was completed. Actual construction and placement of the Development
structure and features is not part of this Reclamation Plan as it
will be controlled by Grand County under their development guide-
lines . The new private drive will be graded in from the southeast
corner to the development floor but this road will remain after
reclamation is complete to provide access to the owner. The tempo-
rary road entering the west side will be removed during reclamation.
Fertilizer will be used to enhance the seed growth and will be
spread using a tractor pulled rotary spreader, on the seedbed and
disced in during seedbed preparation.
Seeding will occur between September 15th and May 31st. Gener-
ally before the first freeze in the fall or after the last freeze in
the spring. The seed will be drilled to insure maximum germination
and most rapid cover establishment . The seeding mix and species of
grasses to be used on the area are shown on page 18 of this report .
The seed will be obtained from a supplier in the area so the mix is
adapted to local conditions. Only inaccessible areas (if any) will
be broadcast seeded. If the seed is broadcast, the seed rates will
be doubled. The seeded area will then be mulched using 2000 lbs/acr-
es of clean straw and crimped onto the seed bed.
After the second growing season the site will be inspected and
an assessment of revegetation success will be done to determine if
additional seeding will be necessary. If the analysis shows addi-
tional work is needed it will be done that fall .
Weed control will be implemented prior to and during
revegetation activities . This does not mean we will attempt to kill
all weeds, since some provide a natural ground cover and shade for
emerging grass . We will concentrate on controlling the noxious weeds
on the reclaimed area.
Track 4 Grading Project July 22, 2020
26
