2. Topsoiling-No topsoiling was done in the last year. But it is coming later this year.
A. Locations of topsoiling- N/A.
B. Depth of topsoiling- N/A.
C. Final grading of topsoiled lands -N/A.
3. Accommodation for drainage -As stated previously, a drainage plan has been prepared for
the pit. The plan calls for a 3 foot drop in elevation from the back of the pit at the base of the
planned 5:1 slopes to the outlet at the northeast corner of the pit. Currently, the drainage ends in
a deep pit which would hold a large amount of water, but has no outlet. That would retain water
on site, but that requires owning water rights. Therefore an outlet is planned into an adjacent
intermittent channel that originally handled water from this same area. The design should keep
discharge to similar amounts to what originally went into the adjacent channel.
4. Revegetation - None performed, but planting will occur after topsoiling, probably this next
winter.
5. Status of Prior Revegetation Areas-
A. Status of newest seedings as of report date- No newly seeded areas.
E. Status of older revegetation as of report date (describe growth rates, cover, invasive
species, native invasion, and difficulties) - Most of the older revegetation areas, all
of which have been approved and released from responsibility, continue in good
condition and show continued development toward a composition and structure similar
to the natural vegetation. That was accomplished using native seeds of the same species
g P g
as the natural vegetation and allowing invasion from the natural vegetation into the
revegetated areas. A few are different due to planting a different seed mixture that was
appropriate and approved at the time, but later changed to the current approved mixture.
Individual Reclamation Areas: None noted that are really unique.
F. Description o animal impacts on revegetation: No significant animal impacts
P .r P g 1 P
were noted. Grazing appears to be continuing in some areas in a well managed fashion.
A nice change from the past with the former grazing lessee. Very positive impacts
everywhere including the channel vegetation of Coal Creek.
WEED STATUS:
1. General overview of weed status on site: The affected land has localized weed issues with
diffuse knapweed being the most problematic. Control of this and other weeds are included in
the finalized reclamation plan the company will use in the reclamation. No new weed species
seen on the site.
Status report for 2020 due July 15, 2020 Page 3 of 4
