The LTF underdrain system was visually
inspected June 30,2020 and the flow rate was measured to be approximately 36.5 gallons per minute(gpm).
West Pit Waste Water Treatment Plant
During the month of June 2020, the West Pit Waste Water Treatment Plant(WWTP) was operated under
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) CDPS Permit No. C00045675 and
discharged 7,877,900 gallons(24.2 acre-feet)of treated water into the Rito Seco alluvial aquifer. No water
was transferred from the West Pit to the LTF. There was 321 cubic yards of sludge transferred from the
WWTP drying pad to the LTF during the period of May 30 to June 1,2020.
BMRI performed the monthly visual seepage expression inspections on June 30, 2020 in the historic
seepage area identified in Figure 2 of the permit. No seepage expressions were observed in the historic
seepage area.
BMRI measured the monthly West Pit backfill, alluvial and monitoring wells as required under in the
QA/QC Plan. Measurements obtained for the monthly wells are shown in Table 3.
Table 3-Monthly and Quarterly Groundwater Depth to Water
Monitoring Well Identification Observation Date Depth to Water
ft
BF-4 06/30/2020 24.96
BF-5R 06/30/2020 30.84
BF-6 06/30/2020 30.98
M-6 06/30/2020 DRY
M-7 06/30/2020 DRY
M-8 06/30/2020 DRY
M-9 06/30/2020 141.45
M-10 06/30/2020 25.33
M-11 R 06/30/2020 38.03
M-12 06/30/2020 174.74
M-13R 06/30/2020 125.81
M-14 06/30/2020 130.85
M-16 06/30/2020 22.61
M-17 06/30/2020 30.50
M-18 06/30/2020 26.75
